Based in Durham North Carolina, String Break formed during the COVID lockdown when a core group from Durham’s Old North State Jam met to play safely outdoors.  Months later we emerged from the pandemic with a tightly knit sound coupled with our own unique take on the material we’d been working up.  Now free to roam the planet, we’ve been performing as String Break.

While our roots are Americana and Bluegrass, we branch out and put our spin on a variety of crowd-pleasers by the Eagles, Buffalo Springfield, Billy Strings, the Grateful Dead, Steve Earle, Led Zeppelin (!), some originals, and lots more.

Performing around the NC Triangle region, we’ve been seen playing at breweries, wineries, meaderies, community events, private clubs, weddings, and neighborhood gatherings.
